Welcome Home:
The VA will be conducting a “WELCOME HOME” at the Yorktown on Thursday, 9 September 2010 for veterans of all wars. The Welcome Home is a job fair with employers on site, health fair, the mobile Vet Center, and expert advice and enrollment for Veteran health care and benefits. Veterans and their family members will also enjoy free guided tours of the USS Yorktown and the Charleston Air Force Mini C-17.
Welcome Home will take place Thursday 9 September 2010, 1100 - 1500, aboard the USS Yorktown at the Naval and Maritime Museum at Patriots Point in Charleston, SC. All veterans, service members, and their families are invited to this free event! This is a VA Medical Center Event. Come out and participate.
District 1 Commander Bob Ohar is asking for volunteers to help out this year. It’s a very good recruiting tool to help us get new members. We will be promoting membership and information about the VFW. Comrades and Ladies Auxiliary members are asked to volunteer some of their time at the VFW District 1 booth.
